I started The Dorset CFO with a simple goal, to provide friendly, professional and flexible support to businesses that need help achieving their next goal.
That goal could be simply getting started, growing the business, needing turnaround, or indeed an exit at the end of your journey.

Business challenges come in all shapes and sizes so the right solution also needs to be flexible. I partner with you on a "fractional" basis so that you have the help you need when you need it, sized to fit your requirements, circumstances and budget, avoiding the commitment to a full time board member or employee. That could be as little as a few hours per month all the way to multiple days per week, via onsite presence or video conferencing, as you prefer.

The focus of this support can be in any one or several areas including:

• Fractional Finance Director/CFO services. Whether to fill an interim gap or a long-term position, I can bring many years of varied experience (see Bio below!) to deliver at team, operational and strategic levels for you

• Non-Executive directorship services. Simultaneously challenging and supporting the executive Directors to maximise your business performance

• Project specific assistance for M&A projects, from business case build through due diligence, purchase and valuation mechanisms, integration, and benefit realisation

• Help at the Start-up phase. I love helping entrepreneurs get their new businesses off the ground so whether you need "hands-on" help setting up your business structures and entities, set-up of financial or accounting systems or general financial coaching, I'm here to guide and support.

Brief background bio...

Since qualifying as a Chartered Accountant (ICAEW FCA) 25 years ago (!), I have performed a multitude of different finance, operational, executive and Non-Exec roles with all sizes of growth businesses (including Aviva, FirstAssist, Standard Life, Healthcode, Vitality and Benifex). This work has involved multiple M&A projects, international set-ups and expansions as well as exit to Private Equity.
